the illegally occupied northern third of the republic of cyprus is not a formally recognized independent state or republic. it has been illegally occupied by turkish troops since the brutal invasion of 1974 and to state or advertise otherwise is an affront to all of those who long for a unified country. any property transactions involving the buying and selling of greek cypriot homes is illegal and has been found to be counter to the values of the european union. also, the closing of churches and the systematic sell off of their icons is a slap in the face for those of us who support equality and mutual respect of the two communities. shame on you for your shameless misleading statements.
